Homework in my class is individualize for each student, therefore, homework assignments are not posted on this page. Homework will be given out on Mondays and is expected back to me on Fridays. Please allow your students to do their homework on their own, but you can assist them if they need the help. Remember, their homework is individualized for them, and will not be anything that he/she can not do on his/her own.
As part of homework, each student is expected to read for 20 minutes each night Reading materials should be appropriate to your child's reading level and ability. MyOn is an excellent resource for your student to use to find reading materials. This program will also read stories to your child and ask comprehension questions afterwards. Some students may require assistance reading the comprehension questions at the end, if this is the case, please assist your child reading the questions but allow them to answer the question for themselves. Also, If you choose to read to your child be sure to pause during your reading and ask questions about the text checking your child's comprehension of the text as you read to them.
If for some reason homework is not given out on a particular week, your child is still expected study the information on his/her homework folder, read for 20 minutes each night, and utilize any of the websites for children on this site for at least 20 minutes to continue to build their personal skills. There are also educational programs on Clever that are designed with your child in mind. To log onto Clever students will need their user ID and password. If your child does not know theirs from memory, contact me and I can provide it to you.
