Welcome to Room 23!
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you, my name is Ms. Tripp. I am an Elementary, Mild Cognitive Impairment Teacher at Dixon Educational Learning Academy. I am a retired Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) teacher. I have been teaching special education students in the Detroit Public Schools for over 25 years, and I am excited to continue my work with DPSCD. My goal is to meet the individual needs of each student in my class (grades K-5), as specified on the students' Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
I believe communication is the key to having a great parent-teacher relationship; therefore, I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s education. You can send me a note, call the school office to leave me a message, or email me at [email protected], and I will be more than happy to address your concerns. If the need arises for me to contact you I will try to reach you by telephone, note home, or email (if you provide an email address).
I am available for conferences by appointment only. Please call or email me to set up an appointment if it is necessary to speak with me in person. I am available for appointments on most school days, before and after school. However, I am not available for conferences after school on Wednesdays due to regularly scheduled staff meetings.
Your child will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead. I look forward to working with you and your child, and assisting him/her in achieving their Individualized Educational Plan goals!
